Itinerary

• Day 1

  Arrival in Gangtok

  On arrival at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), you will be greeted by our representative from Goodwill Tour and Travel, your trusted travel agent in Siliguri. From there, you will be transferred to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, which is about 125 kilometers away from the airport/station. The journey will take approximately 4-5 hours, but you will be rewarded with scenic views of the lush hills, valleys, and flowing rivers. Upon arrival at Gangtok, check into your hotel. Take some time to relax and acclimatize to the cool mountain climate. In the evening, you may explore the MG Road in Gangtok, a lively street filled with cafes, local shops, and vibrant markets. Enjoy a stroll, grab a snack, and take in the charm of this Himalayan city. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

• Day 2

  Gangtok Sightseeing

  After breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed for a full day of sightseeing around Gangtok. The first stop will be Tashi View Point, from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of Mount Kanchenjunga, the third-highest peak in the world. You will also be able to see the scenic hills and valleys surrounding Gangtok. Next, we will visit Rumtek Monastery, one of the largest and most important Buddhist monasteries in Sikkim. It is known for its beautiful architecture and peaceful surroundings. You will also visit Do Drul Chorten Stupa, a prominent Buddhist stupa in Gangtok, famous for its peaceful atmosphere and panoramic views of the city. Afterward, we will head to Banjhakri Water Falls, located amidst a lush green forest. The serene and peaceful surroundings make it an ideal place to relax and connect with nature. Finally, we will visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, a museum dedicated to Tibetan culture, history, and art. Here, you can learn more about the unique traditions of Sikkim. • Day 3

  Gangtok to Tsongmo Lake and Nathula Pass

  After breakfast, we will head towards Tsongmo Lake (also known as Changu Lake), located at an altitude of 3,753 meters (12,313 feet). This high-altitude lake is a must-see attraction and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The lake is famous for its beauty, especially during the spring when the rhododendron flowers bloom. You can also enjoy a yak ride near the lake. From Tsongmo Lake, we will continue our journey to Nathula Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world and an important border post between India and China. The pass offers incredible views of the Himalayas and is a significant historical and military site. Visiting Nathula Pass is a unique experience that allows you to witness the Indo-China border and interact with soldiers on both sides. Please note that a special permit is required to visit Nathula Pass, and Goodwill Tour and Travel can assist you in obtaining the necessary permits. In the evening, return to Gangtok and relax. • Day 4

  Gangtok to Pelling

  After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel in Gangtok and proceed towards Pelling, a picturesque town in West Sikkim, located around 120 kilometers away (approximately 5 hours by road). Pelling is known for its stunning views of Mount Kanchenjunga and offers a variety of attractions. Upon arrival in Pelling, check into your hotel and freshen up. In the afternoon, you will visit Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most significant monasteries in Sikkim. The monastery offers a peaceful atmosphere and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Next, we will visit Khecheopalri Lake, a sacred lake surrounded by dense forests. The lake is considered sacred by both Buddhists and Hindus, and it is believed that the lake never gets dirty, as the birds in the area keep it clean by removing fallen leaves. • Day 5

  Pelling to Bagdogra/NJP (Departure)

  After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and begin our return journey to Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). On the way, we will visit the famous Rabdentse Ruins, which were once the capital of the Kingdom of Sikkim. The ruins offer a glimpse into the history of the region and are a great spot for photography. After visiting the ruins, we will continue our journey back to Bagdogra/NJP, where you will be dropped off for your departure.
